Santi Cazorla has joined Qatari side Al Sadd after a successful second spell with la Liga club Villarreal.
The Spanish midfielder turn down a new contract offered by the Yellow Submarines and ended up going to the Middle East to play for a side managed by his former teammate Xavi.
And the 35-year-old veteran has signed a deal With the Doha based club and AL add were quick to confirm it on Twitter: "Welcome to our club Santi.
"We wish you all the best and we hope we can win many titles together. Many thanks!"
Carzola's move to Asia has dashed the hopes of an anticipated return to his former Premier League club Arsenal.
It is understood that the former Malaga playmaker was in line to take up a position as Mikel Arteta's assistant at the Emirates.
Carzola was given a hero's farewell by his team-mates after Villarreal's final matchday win over Eibar.
He provided an assist in the 4-0 win and was given a guard of honour after the final whistle was blown at the Estadio de la Ceramica where he began his career.
The Spain international was subbed off in the 82nd minute and was treated to a standing ovation with the few people at the empty stadium.
Carzola battled with several injury problems during his career with Arsenal and returned home in 2018 after spending over a year on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Samuel Chukwueze has been attracting interest from top European clubs and Arsenal are the latest big side to want his services.
Chukwueze's Villarreal teammate Santi Carzola who left the Gunners six years ago confirmed friends at the London club have been making enquiries about the Nigerian winger and Spanish defender Pau Torres.
Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with a £60million move for the Nigerian international and he has been is tipped to leave La Liga at the end of the season.
