Robert Lewandowski: Jack Kenmare claims Polish striker robbed of 2020 Ballon d'Or

Senior sports writer for UK outlet SPORTbible, Jack Kenmare in his latest analysis claims that sensational Bayern Munich goal scorer Robert Lewandowski was deliberately denied of the 2020 Ballon d’Or.

Ballon d'Or will not be contested by any player in 2020 due to the impact of the coronavirus in most parts of the year.

France Football which regularly holds the ceremony claim that there are lack of sufficient fair conditions to give the award to any player in all categories.

Messi has won six accolades while his rival Ronaldo has five under his belts and both superstars would have been in contention or the 2020 award if it had not been canceled.

The likes of Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne would also have also been in the race for the individual trophy.

However according to popular journalist Kenmare, Lewandowski who scored 51 goals in 43 appearances this season could have been robbed of the prestigious award.

He said: “The 31-year-old Polish international was, in my opinion, this year's front-runner for the award after a truly remarkable campaign in front of goal.

“Lewandowski helped his side to another Bundesliga title with 34 goals in 31 appearances, which is an average of a goal every 81 minutes.

"He beat the likes of Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho in the scoring charts, and was recently named the Bundesliga's Player of the Season for 2019/20, with 42.6 percent
 of his fellow players labelling him the best in the league."
