- John Terry 's throat was once grabbed by former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise
- Wise claims he was unimpressed with Terry buying a brand new car instead of a house
- The Chelsea legend won FA Cups, League Cup and the Cup Winners Cup during his spell with the Blues
John Terry has been forever grateful to his fellow Chelsea legend Dennis Wise after advising to sell his brand new car to buy a house.
And Wise has said that his former teammate made the right choice by returning the car to purchase a house.
Terry recently revealed that Wise grabbed him by the throat when he decided to buy a car with his Champions League bonus when he was just 19-years of age.
Wise helped the likes of Terry, Jody Morris and John Harley to help secure their bonuses from the club's hierarchy despite playing a few games during the 1998-99 season.
And the former club captain gave his own side of the story with Terry during a Q&A with SunSport with Chelsea's new shirt sponsor, Three.
I'll tell you what happened, I worked extremely hard to get a bonus for the lads after we got to the Champions League.
"And then he walks in with a flash car - I wasn’t too happy.
"I told him in certain ways this is not about that, you need to be sensible with the money you’ve just got and not waste it on a car.
"He chose to make the right decision..."
"I just had my hand around his shoulders and walked him away and said this is not correct, don’t do that.
"I was only trying to help the young boys out and point them in the right direction.
"He took it well I’ve got to say, he did the correct thing.
"Not that he was forced or anything…"
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that John Terry has revealed how he learnt one of the biggest life lessons from former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise.
Terry recalls that Wise once grabbed him by the throat after he used his Champions League bonus to buy a car as a youngster player.
It was a bitter pill the former England captain had to swallow but Terry remains grateful for the gesture many years after.
