Currently trending on social media is the news of a young abroad-based Nigerian man who committed suicide after a lady accused him of abusing a woman.
Identified as Izu, he had earlier taken to the platform to recount a bad experience with a police officer who racially profiled him and almost had him killed. Shortly after this, he was added to a list of 'abusers' curated by a lady identified as Nanichi Anese.
According to her, another lady had accused him of 'non-physical harassment'. In the next several tweets, Izu tried to find out who the lady was so he could clear his name as he was put in the same list as other men accused of rape.

Screenshots of DM conversation released by Izu showed that Anese refused to reveal the identity of the lady and simply told him to do better. Anese who claimed she was trying to make her page a 'safe space for victims' wasn't willing to take his name out.
Izu made an attempt to clear his name but his accuser was not cooperative. He later left a note apologizing, though he stated that he doesn’t know what he did or who he hurt that led to him being accused.
He eventually found the lady and shared screenshots of the conversations that led her to accuse him of assault. Apparently, she had wanted a serious relationship with him but the feeling wasn't mutual.
After trying unsuccessfully to clear his name, it was later reported that he took his own life as he could no longer deal with the 'trauma'.
Following news of his death, Anese took to the platform to express her pain and explained she wanted her to page be a 'safe space' for victims and the accused.

Many are not too pleased with the development and are seeking justice for the late Izu.
Well, many people don't seem to buy into her seemingly act of contrition and have accused her of falsely labelling Izu an abuser and not giving him a chance to clear his name.

Below are some of the things people are saying:
Only a while ago, popular Twitter influencer and UK-based medical doctor, Funmilayo, was the topic of discussion on social media following emotional and sexual abuse allegations against his person. Twitter user and also a doctor, @bola_aseyan, recently took to social media to reveal she has been tolerating abuse from the said doctor for a long time.
Shortly after, he came out to deny the claims and demanded £10,000 (N4.8m) in damages, from Bola Aseyan, a female doctor who accused him of emotional and sexual abuse during her visit.
In a similar story, social media was awash with reactions following the alleged attempted rape accusations labeled against Twitter user, @ynotes_.
Fellow Twitter user @cynnerr had earlier taken to the platform to accuse him of attempting to rape her friend with whom he had gone on a date. As expected, the tweet gained traction and an outrage directed at the young man followed.

However, things took an interesting turn when @ynotes_ responded with a letter from his lawyers, demanding that the statements which he described as false, be retracted and an apology, tendered.
His demands, however, were not met, pushing him to expose the ladies in the ongoing drama. Apparently, the ladies had reached out, asking to settle the matter out of court. The young man showed up, but unknown to the ladies who had come along with a lawyer friend of theirs, he recorded their entire conversation.
@Ynotes_ who shared records of their conversation online explained in a detailed thread what had transpired between them, not only exposing their reluctance to make a public apology but also showing proof of the ladies admitting to lying about the attempted rape.
