Victor Osimhen: Jurgen Klopp reportedly tells Liverpool to sign Nigerian striker

- Victor Osimhen's dream of playing in the Premier League is still alive

- This follows reports that Liverpool have now overtaken Napoli and are the front runners in the race to sign the Lille striker

- Osimehn scored 18 goals across all competitions for Lille last season

Liverpool have taken giant steps in their bid to sign Lille striker Victor Osimhen who was close to joining Napoli earlier this week.

A change in agent for Osimhen saw the Nigerian striker’s potential move to Napoli collapse as the Serie A club had to begin re-negotiation with his new agent.

Recall that Osimhen had sacked his former agent some days ago who threatened to take him to court.

It has now been reported that Liverpool are now in contact with his new agent as they look to hijack Napoli’s move for the striker.

RAI Sport journalist Ciro Venerato claims Liverpool are now leading the race to sign Osimhen.

Venerato told Calcio Napoli 24: “New and perhaps decisive steps forward in Liverpool’s purchase of Osimhen.

“His new agent seems to have left little margin for the Blue management after a telephone talk.

“There are signs of cosmic pessimism mixed with resignation coming from Castel Volturno. After Pépé, Osimhen seems to have vanished too.

“The change of agent has proven decisive. But we mustn’t forget the past. The boy had long had doubts about his destination. He dreamt of the Premier League.

“Naples was his alternative choice in the absence of concrete offers. Now that Klopp has officially asked for him, it’s all over.

“The appeal of the European champions, the Reds is too strong, money aside. There’s not only economic reasons for Oshimen. The Premier League is the dream of all Nigerian boys.”
