Premier League side Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen this summer in what could be a big move for the Super Eagles star.

The Red Devils will now be facing serious competition from Italian side Napoli who are also interested in signing Victor Osimhen this summer.

Victor Osimhen and Napoli chiefs have been involved in serious transfer talks in which the Nigerian even traveled to Italy to see Gattuso and his chiefs.

But Manchester United have not given up on the possibility of them to have Victor Osimhen this summer and they are ready to go for him.

According to reporter Ciro Venerato, Manchester United chiefs recently contacted the agent of Victor Osimhen over a move to Old Trafford.

“A few hours ago Manchester United phoned Osimhen’s new agent to find out if he had signed with Napoli.

“If an offer from United comes, there would not be many possibilities because they have an economic power superior to that of Napoli''.

Ole Solskjaer will be hoping to get enough money this summer to buy all the players he wants with the likes of Sancho and Harry Kane also linked with Manchester United.

Manchester United are currently occupying fifth position on the Premier League table with the hopes of them making the top four.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Napoli have stepped up their bid to land Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen as they are ready to offer Algerian midfielder Adam Ounas plus cash for the Super Eagles striker.

Reports by Italian outlet Tuttoport have it that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis who is in good relationships with his Lille counterpart Gerard Lopez is leading the cause of the transfer.

The 21-year-old has also been linked with English Premier League and La Liga clubs but Napoli are confident that they have stolen a march on their rivals for his services.
