Konstantinos Mavropanos has signed a new contract extension with Arsenal but will be sent on loan to German League side VfB Stuttgart next season.
The 22-year-old Greek centre-back joined the Gunners from PAS Giannina in a deal valued around €2.5 million.
He joined German lower league side Nurenburg earlier this year on a short term loan deal and made 12 appearances and helped them avoid relegation at the end of the season.
Mavropanos will be expected to gain topflight experience as Stuttgart will be playing in the Bundesliga next campaign.

The club said on their website: "Dinos Mavropanos has signed a new contract with us and will join VfB Stuttgart on loan next season.
"The 22-year-old defender has been on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Nuremberg since January, where he made 12 appearances and became a key figure in saving them from relegation this season.
The Greece U21 team has only managed seven Premier League appearances since the former Gunners head of recruitment took him to the Emirates Stadium two years ago.
SunSport reports that Stuttgart made attempts to lure the youngster to Germany but his international teammate Sokratis influenced the deal due to his relationship with the player.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old could be released by the North London club at the expiration of his contract next summer.
Arsenal already handed both David Luiz and Pablo Mari for next term, while the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Rob Holding may also have some part to play.
But Mikel Arteta is still on the hunt for defensive reinforcements this summer to tighten the Gunners' leaky backline.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Arsenal defender Ainsley Maitland-Niles could be on his way out of the club this summer after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
Maitland-Niles has been sparingly used since the arrival of Arteta as manager at the Emirates, with the youngster struggling to hold down a regular first-team spot.
