A heartwarming video has emerged in which a shopkeeper could be seen giving shelter to a stray dog amid heavy rain.

In the video, the dog could be seen standing in front of the shop during a heavy downpour while the shopkeeper asked it to come in.

At first, the dog was doubtful but soon realised that the shopkeeper was trying to protect it from the rain.

Meanwhile, previously reported that a video has emerged in which a family saved a bear cub's life by pulling a food container off its head as it desperately swam in a lake in Wisconsin, United States.

Tricia Hurt, her husband Brian and son Brady were boating on Marsh-Miller Lake in Wisconsin, when they saw that the animal needed help.

Risking his own life to save the baby bear, Brian yanked the tub off its head as the confused animal made an attempt to claw at his hands.

Tricia said: "We couldn't believe it when we saw the cheese puffs container wedged on the poor bear's head.

"You can't tell how a wild animal will react, even if you are trying to save its life, but we had to get over that fear and help him out."

In other news, a pregnant woman has advised parents to stop choosing gender for their unborn kids, saying children should be allowed to decide their own identity when they are born.

The woman identified as Love Gwaltney took to her Facebook page to let her friends know that she is pregnant but quick enough to tell them that she and her husband will not choose the baby's gender.

She said people get so excited when they are pregnant and start picking out clothes based on the gender of the unborn kids.
