Samuel Chukwueze was in action in action on Monday night, July 13, when his side Villarreal lost 2-1 at home to Real Sociedad thereby ending their UEFA Champions League qualification dreams.

The Nigerian winger was brought-on at the start of the second-half for his 35th league appearance and he set up former Arsenal star Santi Cazorla to make it 2-1 on 85 minutes.

The visitors had gone ahead on 61 minutes before Diego Llorente added the second goal in the 75th minute.

The result means that Villareal are in fifth position on 57 points, nine points behind fourth placed Sevilla with two games left to play.

But the Yellow Submarine could still qualify automatically for the Europa League if they end in fifth position.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid continue their steady progress towards lifting their first Spanish League title this season following their 2-1 win over Granada at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.
