Antoine Griezmann could miss the remainder of the season following the muscle injury he suffered in Barcelona's victory over Real Valladolid.
The Catalan club confirmed the news on their official Twitter page earlier on Sunday's July 12 having subject the Frenchman to medical test.
Griezmann only lasted 45 minutes on the pitch for Quique Setien's side at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla and was replaced by Luiz Suarez at the start of the second half.
During his post-match interview, Barca boss revealed the 29-year-old requested to be substituted due to the discomfort he was feeling at half time.

According to Goal.com Griezmann underwent a scan that confirmed he suffered an injury but it is unclear how long he would be out of action.
"Tests this morning have shown that first-team player Antoine Griezmann has a muscle injury in the quadriceps of his right leg," a statement on the club's website confirmed.
"He is therefore not available for selection at the present time and the evolution of the injury will condition his availability."
Barcelona have to Spanish League games left this season - against Osasuna on Thursday and Deportivo Alaves on July 19 and the World Cup winner is likely to miss both according to the club.
Griezmann has only accounted for nine goals after 35 appearances since his move from Atletico Madrid last summer.
Meanwhile, Suarez could be forced back into the team's starting XI for the remainder of their fixtures this term.
Barcelona are currently second on the table with one point behind leaders Real Madrid who have 80 points with one match in hand.
The Catalans will at the end of the league season shift their attention to Champions League as they hope to overcome Napoli in the second leg of their round of 16 encounter.
Both teams shared the spoils in the reverse fixture with the game ending in a 1-1 draw after regulation period but football has since been on holiday due to coronavirus pandemic.

But the Argentine forward still managed to achieve another feat as he became the first player in the history of the Spanish League to score 20 and assist 20 goals in one season.
The 33-year-old created an assist that helped Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal score the only goal that separated the two sides after regulation period.
