Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Willie Obiano told residents of Anambra state that the number of COVID-19 cases in the state would likely increase in the coming weeks.
The Anambra state governor made the disclosure on Friday, July 10, through the commissioner of information, Don-Adinuba.
He said in recent times there has been no significant rise of the disease in the state, pointing out the 20 cases reported by the NCDC days ago were based on samples taken over three weeks across the state.
The governor said Anambra state has the capacity to manage Covid-19 cases should there be a spike. Obiano disclosed that the state was planning to increase testing capacity after the commissioning of the mega laboratory at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka.
He said the mega lab will be able to test 470 samples for COVID-19 simultaneously, thereby increasing the detection rate in the state.
