Gareth Bale was spotted on Real Madrid bench taking a nap during the 2-0 win over Alaves in La Liga encounter.

Zinedine Zidane's side maintained their four-point gap over their rivals following the hard-earned victory at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.

Real were without three of their key defenders including Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal who were both suspended for the tie.

Marcelo and Nacho Fernandez were also out injured as Ferland Mendy and Lucas Vasquez were given the thumbs up by Zidane to start in the wing-back positions.

Bale who had played 100 minutes in a possible 720 in the last 12 matches and was expected to have started on the right but he was prefered to Marco Asensio, while Rodrygo played form the left.

And with the five substitutions made by the French boss, Bale was not given a chance as he sat out the entire 90 minutes on the bench.

The Welshman was cracked up as Brahim Diaz was used as the fifth and last sub in the 90th minute for Casimero.
