Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been rated high by former Liverpool star Luis Garcia who claimed that the Argentine can still play for five more years before he retires.
Lionel Messi is no doubt one of the biggest football stars in the world considering what he has achieved so far in his career playing for the Spanish champions.
The Argentina international has won six Ballon d'Or awards in his career in which only his arch rival Cristiano Ronaldo has five.
Messi who has never played for any other club than Barcelona recently celebrated his 33rd birthday having scored 700 career goal for club and the national team.
He will be 34 by the time his present contract at Barcelona expire as he remains La Liga's most imperious attacking player with 22 goals and 19 assists just this season.
There have been speculation over the future of Lionel Messi at Barcelona with report already linking him with a move away from the Catalan giants.
Garcia who left Barcelona 16 years ago stated that Lionel Messi is a player who can adapt with any situation and can play for five more years.
"He shows why he's so intelligent. He adapts his game to what the team needs in every game. I could see him playing in 2025, easily,'' Garcia explained according to the report on GOAL.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi and his teammates at Barcelona are occupying second position on the Spanish La Liga table with three games left to end the season.
