A US-based Nigerian kid identified as Chidera Jedidiah has come out to react to a viral video of him which surfaced in the online community.

Chidera in the viral clip was seen destroying items in his mother’s kitchen as some other close relations present in their home begged him to stop.

When the video surfaced on social media, many had tagged Chidera a spoilt brat who was only getting away with his actions because he is based abroad.

The young man started off by expressing his shock that the recording had made its way to social media and the narrative twisted to paint him in a bad light.

According to him, his actions were not because of an argument over a passport as his mum made people believe. Chidera claimed his mother has been an aggressive and violent person all his life.

"When I say aggressive and violent, I am not exaggerating... I have endured plates/knives thrown at me. I even have to remove my mattress and put it up to the door when I sleep for fear she will do something to me in my sleep as she frequently threatens to," he wrote on Twitter.

The young man noted that he has kept the mistreatments from his mum private all his life which is why it was quite shocking to find the clip circulating online.

The young man said after he was talked into moving back in with his mum, peace barely lasted between them.

Speaking on what warranted his actions in the clip, Chidera claimed that his mother had refused to give him his passport which was needed for an application.

Upon her refusal, he went after the document without her knowledge but was forced to ask her for it again when he could not find it.

Chidera claimed his mum got violent at this point and since he could not lift a hand on her, he resorted to destroying items to get her to cooperate.
