It was all drama at the Selhurst Park Stadium on Tuesday night when Chelsea escaped with a 3-2 victory over hosts Crystal Palace in a highly entertaining Premier League fixture.
The Blues needed a victory in the encounter to cement their chances of a top-four finish to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring for the Blues as early as the 6th minute after a disaster by Gary Cahill, who pulled up with a hamstring injury as Willian supplied a sublime reverse-pass for the Frenchman to slot home.

And in the 27th minute, Frank Lampard’s men made it 2-0 courtesy Christian Pulisic who smashed an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.
The hosts pulled one back seven minutes later when Wilfried Zaha powered a long-range shot from about 30 yards out to make it 2-1 to set up a tantalizing second 45 minutes.
The Blues came back strong in the second half as they know how crucial the victory in this game must be and in the 71st minute, Tammy Abraham made it three after he was left unmarked.
Palace responded less than sixty seconds later when Christian Benteke was left alone as he had an easy tap-in from close range.
It was a nervous final twenty minutes for Chelsea as the hosts continued to pile all the pressure desperately searching for an equaliser.
Palace hit the woodwork after Zaha had hit the ball into the mixer from the leftas the ball bounces-off the bottom of the left-hand post and back across the face of goal - having been helped onto it by a fine Kepa fingertip - before being hacked clear. It ended; Crystal Palace 2-3 Chelsea.
