Chelsea are reportedly planning to include Fikayo Tomori in the deal to land West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer.

The Blues boss Frank Lampard is hoping to add the 21-year-old to the list of newly signed players after the arrival of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

However, the Stamford Bridge outfit will have to cough out a staggering £70 million if they must secure the player's services ahead of the coming season.

Daily Mail quoting The Athletic claims Tomori may be sent to the London Stadium temporarily in exchange for the midfielder.

Rice started out at Chelsea but joined the Hammers in 2015 and has gone ahead to make over 100 appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, Lampard might be fielding centre-back position if he eventually returns to his boyhood club.

Tomori seems to have fallen out of favour with the Blues legend this year having played just three matches unlike in the first half of the season when he got a chance to make 14 appearances.

Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger have all been preferred to the England international in recent weeks.

Tomori was on the brink of joining Everton on loan last summer before being retained when the club sold David Luiz to Arsenal instead.

On Tomori, Lampard has previously said: "I have four centre-backs to choose from, so most weeks, two of them are unhappy. And then people question you when you stick with a back two or back three. There is competition in that area.

"With Fiks, he always has to train at the top level. That goes for all of the young players. When you are out of the team, however much it hurts, you need to show a good attitude and train very well.

"At the moment, he is showing those things and he has a long career ahead of him at this club, without a doubt. It's been more about selection issues."

Legit.ng earlier reported that West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has reportedly emerged as top transfer target for Premier League giants Chelsea this summer.

The Blues have already completed the signings of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech and are hoping to add the Englishman to their fold.

According to SunSport, Frank Lampard is looking for a quality pair of legs in the heart of his defence next campaign.
