The Nigerian entertainment industry is no doubt a very big and thriving one. The film industry also has an actor’s guild where members are said to have some benefits among other things.
Just recently, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), led by Emeka Rollas, paid a courtesy visit to one of its members, Regina Daniels, after she welcomed a child.
This did not go down well with another actress, Kemi Lala Akindoju, who called them out on social media and described them as being shameful
Lala’s assertion has however drawn a reply from another Nollywood actress and the director of communications of the guild, Monalisa Chinda.
In a lengthy note shared on her Instagram page, called out Lala and also stated reasons why visiting one of their members who welcomed a child was not out of place.
Monalisa stated that visiting Regina was significant because she was a member of the guild and that she also reached out to them personally to share the good news of her child’s birth.
The veteran actress also stated that Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, is the vice president of the south-south arm of the guild and that the actress’ husband, Ned Nwoko, is the current chairman of the National Board of Patrons of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
She wrote: “It is also pertinent to note that Mrs. Nwoko’s Mother, Rita Daniel is the able Vice President, south-south in the current executive council of the Guild.
Her husband, Rt. Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko is the current Chairman, National Board of Patrons of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.”
Monalisa then revealed that Lala is not a member of the AGN.
