APC chieftain's daughter abducted as gunmen invade village

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped the daughter of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Gimba Salihu Bako.

Bako's daughter, Hasiya Gimba, was said to have been abducted by armed men suspected to be kidnappers in Chiji community in Abaji area council of the FCT.

The incident was confirmed by Alhaji Gimba, who was a chairmanship aspirant during the last area council election, Daily Trust reports.

The APC chieftain explained that on Monday, July 6, he received a call around about 02:30 am from his in-law that his daughter had been kidnapped.

According to him, unknown gunmen invaded his in-law’s house at Chiji village, took money from occupants of the house before taking his daughter away.

DSP Anjuguri Manzah, the spokesman of the FCT Police Command, said the incident was being investigated and assured that the victim would be rescued unharmed.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that unknown gunmen kidnapped the deputy chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state, Shu’aibu Idris, and his daughter.

The politician and his daughter were said to have been kidnapped by armed men on Wednesday, May 13, in the Zaria area of the state. The incident was confirmed by the APC chairman in Kaduna state, Retired Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, on Thursday, May 14.

Jekada told Channels Television that the party’s deputy chairman and his daughter were abducted in the night from their house located at Kwanar Zango along the Zaria-Kaduna expressway.

In a related development, the president of the customary court, Justice Donatus Yantau Shidda, has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in Taraba state. Justice Shidda was said to have been taken in the early hours of Monday morning, June 8.

A family member was also quoted to have said that Justice Shiddas's wife was present at the time he was abducted in his house in the Kona area of Jalingo, Taraba state capital.
