The former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has said that he is ready to face trial and even serve jail term if the APC can establish any link between him and suspected internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi.

Dogara said it is wrong to jump to a conclusion that he had links with the suspected fraudster, Hushpuppi, based on a group picture at a public event.

Dogara made the statement on Sunday, July 5, after the APC deputy publicity secretary, Yekini Nabena, called for the lawmaker and other PDP members to be probed over their alleged links with Hushpuppi.

The lawmaker through his media aide, Turaki Hassan, faulted Nabena for assuming that he (Dogara) had links with the suspected fraudster based on a group photograph at a public event.

He questioned why the APC deputy publicity secretary didn’t react when APC leaders had also taken photographs with another Dubai-based Instagram celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, aka Mompha, who the EFCC was prosecuting over alleged fraud, money laundering and running a foreign exchange business without the authorisation of the CBN.

Dogara’s spokesperson said that the photo which Nabena was alluding to was just a picture with Nigerians from all walks of life and nothing more.

Meanwhile, Nigerian social media star known as Hushpuppi has landed himself into another problem as the FBI have reportedly accused him as the brains behind the £2 million SS Lazio scam.

This is another fresh case for the Nigerian big boy who is currently facing prosecution in America over many financial crimes he is being accused to have committed.

During that time, Lazio chiefs were reported to have been duped by online scammers as they wrongly paid part of the player's transfer money to a wrong account instead of to Feyenoord.
