The directive was issued by the Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Recall that men of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the deputy governor were withdrawn after he had defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the allegation against Governor Akeredolu of Ondo state that he gave a N6.8 billion contract to his inlaws has been refuted by the Runsewe family.

The family in a statement made available to Legit.ng said the allegation is false because there was no time their company, Dutum Group of Companies, got a contract of such from the state government.

According to the family, the company has been executing contract in the state before the coming of Akeredolu's administration.

Speaking on the allegation, the family wrote:

"On the Ile Oluji Township Road Contract, we will like to state very clearly that the contract was awarded for the sum of N800 million, and not N6.8 billion erroneously being brandished on the internet by some unscrupulous persons.

"Therefore, there is no N25 billion contract being executed by the Dutum Construction anywhere in Ondo state. The Ile Oluji road construction is 91% completed with N630million paid to our firm thus far.

"We also want to make it known that out of about 30 road constructions ongoing in Ondo state, only the Ile Oluji township road was awarded to Dutum Company Limited and we stand to be corrected," the family said in the statement.

Going further, the family added: "As a family with impeccable integrity, we do not compromise quality in all our dealings. Our corporate brand is known for quality and excellent service delivery."
