Popular YouTube kids show Baby Shark is being developed into an animated series for Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon is making the pop culture phenomenon into an animated preschool series.
Nickelodeon will team up with SmartStudy, the company behind Pinkfong, the Korean entertainment brand which created the song, to develop the original series for pre-schoolers.
According to CNN, the animated series will be 26 half-hour episodes and follow Baby Shark and his best friend William.

The two will go on comedic adventures in the community of Carnivore Cove where they will meet new friends and sing original songs along the way.
According to Ramsey Naito, executive vice president of Nickelodeon animation production and development, it is an exciting experience to create new storylines.
"Having the opportunity to dive deeper into this incredible world and create all-new storylines has been extremely exciting, and our head of preschool Eryk Casemiro and his team cannot wait to help grow the Baby Shark universe and fanbase with an amazing new series that captures the heart and spirit of this beloved property," said Ramsey.
According to Ramsey, the adventure will kick-off with a holiday special in December, then it will roll out in earnest in the spring of 2021.
The Baby Shark song launched on YouTube in November 2015 and has become the second most-watched video in the platform's history with 5.7 billion viewers.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Spongebob Squarepants, a children's cartoon aired on Nickelodeon was outed as a gay character by the network.
The channel described the character as an ally of the LGBTQ community during Pride Month. Fans of the show said they always guessed that Spongebob was not straight due to his flowery nature.
