The crisis rocking the APC is far from being over as the faction of the ruling party loyal to Adams Oshiomhole is considering court action.

Recall that the leadership of the party, following President Buhari's recommendation, dissolved the National Working Committee during the NEC meeting held on Thursday, June 25.

President Buhari also directed that all the pending litigations in the party should be quashed.

However, the camp loyal to the former national chairman of the party, Oshiomhole, has threatened to seek legal redress, Daily Trust reports.

The erstwhile acting national chairman, Ntufam Hilliard Eta and acting national secretary, Waziri Bulama, in a statement released by the faction on Thursday, restated their position that Victor Giadom lacked the power to convene NEC meeting.

They said they are studying the development and will be "consulting with stakeholders and a team of lawyers on the next line of action".

“Therefore, all members of our great party and concerned Nigerians are urged to remain calm pending the outcome of the consultations,” they said.

Retention of military chiefs is a disservice to Nigeria - Group tells Buhari

Giadom had prided himself the apple-eye of the ruling party's top echelon after imposing himself as the national chairman despite apparent opposition from the Oshiomhole-led national working committee members.

After receiving the backing of President Buhari to summon APC meeting, little did Giadom know that he was digging his own political grave.

Giadom was reportedly left astonished by the dissolution of the NWC and all attempts to speak after the meeting was vehemently met with objection.

According to an internal source, he wanted to speak but was stopped from doing so by the speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila.

Gbajabiamila was said to have told Giadom that he has ceased to be acting chairman of the party and he must not speak on matters concerning the party any more.

Huge reactions have been trailing the development unfolding in the ruling party on social media.
