The most notable name among the bunch is Borthwick Jackson, who made several first team appearances for United under Louis Van Gaal.
Man United is however not willing to release any player under the age of 19 because of the unique situation brought by the coronavirus pandemic.
The outgoing players will receive financial support from the club at least by the end of August as they seek new clubs.
“With some of the younger pros that are ending their contracts, we are putting packages in place so that when the season resumes they will come back for a few months with some financial support and a training programme to help them with the next stage of their career,” Head of academy Nick Cox said as quoted by Sunsport.
One player who is running out of a contract but United are keen to keep him is Angel Gomes.
Solskjaer failed to give an update on Gomes’ contract situation during the pre-match press conference against Sheffield United, although there are indications the 19-year old might have a future at Old Trafford.
"For me, I've not spoken to anyone last night or this morning," Solskjaer said.
"So the paperwork and the admin, the meetings that are going on, I can't update on that,” the Man United manager added.
