It is indeed a sad time for the Nigerian movie industry following the sad passing of actor Gbolagade Akinpelu popularly known as Ogun Majek.

The veteran movie star who is known for his role in Yoruba movies was announced to have died on Thursday, June 25, at his Imalenfalafia residence in Ibadan, Oyo state, Vanguard reports.

Ogun Majek’s death was also confirmed by comic actor and president of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, who is mostly known as Mr Latin.

Mourning the death of the late actor on Facebook, Tunde Yussuf, a managing director at Ibadan Acting Studio (IAS) said: "From him we come and on to him we shall return, Alh Gbolagade Akinpelu Ogunmajek has return to his creator, may God almighty rest his soul among the righteous. Amen"

Recall that some months ago, reported that the actor came out to seek financial aid from well-meaning Nigerians to seek medical care for a critical illness.

A post shared on Esho Promotions UK Facebook's page revealed the actor's illness and how he could not raise funds alone to overcome the health challenge.
