Reacting to people laying claims on the challenge, Josh set the records straight.

"I created the #Don'tLeaveMe not pun itself. So, if you've been doing pun, you can't come out and say you created the challenge. The first video was posted on March 24th and Kreb (his hype man) shouted don't leave me and that was it. All I can do is state the fact and the obvious. Let everybody know what they want to know," he said.

The challenge has now gone viral, so much that it has been reported on some international websites.

Also on Tuesday, June 23, the challenge garnered over 340m views on video-sharing social networking service, TikTok.
