Newcastle United’s 3-0 victory over Sheffield United in the English Premier League on Sunday, June 21, was all a 93-year-old nanny needed to dance as she was delighted her favourite team got back to winning ways.

Although there were no fans inside the stadium as the game was played behind closed-doors inside the St James’ Park, club supporters jumped for joy across the world as they enjoyed the victory.

It was the first game for Steve Bruce’s men upon return of the Premier League which was earlier suspended since mid-March due to the pandemic.

A clip uploaded to Twitter by user Kavina9 showed her nan dancing in jubilation after watching her beloved Magpies beat Sheff Utd - having just beaten Covid-19 herself.

Over-70s are particularly vulnerable to the affects of the disease caused by contracting coronavirus, but the 93-year-old appeared to be in good health as she celebrated the victory.

The short clip also warmed the hearts of many online, with one person commenting: "Belter...gan on Granny."

Another replied to Kavina9's post with: "Get in pet!"

Premier League side Newcastle United is now on the verge of being sold after American billionaire Henry Mauriss joined the race with £350m to buy the club.

For the past two seasons, there have been reports that Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley wants to sell the club with some Saudi Arabian billionaires said to be interested.

The victory means Pep Guardiola's men are now on 63 points from 30 games, thereby reducing Liverpool's lead to 20 points - although the Reds are still unassailable with just 8 games left to play.
