- Newcastle United are back to winning ways in the Premier League
- The Magpies defeated visiting Sheffield United 3-0 upon return of the season
- A 93-year-old woman danced for joy following the victory of Steve Bruce’s men
Newcastle United’s 3-0 victory over Sheffield United in the English Premier League on Sunday, June 21, was all a 93-year-old nanny needed to dance as she was delighted her favourite team got back to winning ways.
Although there were no fans inside the stadium as the game was played behind closed-doors inside the St James’ Park, club supporters jumped for joy across the world as they enjoyed the victory.
It was the first game for Steve Bruce’s men upon return of the Premier League which was earlier suspended since mid-March due to the pandemic.
Three second-half goals from Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie and Joelinton saw Steve Bruce's men blunt the Blades and the entire social media space was sent agog.
A clip uploaded to Twitter by user Kavina9 showed her nan dancing in jubilation after watching her beloved Magpies beat Sheff Utd - having just beaten Covid-19 herself.
Over-70s are particularly vulnerable to the affects of the disease caused by contracting coronavirus, but the 93-year-old appeared to be in good health as she celebrated the victory.
The short clip also warmed the hearts of many online, with one person commenting: "Belter...gan on Granny."
Another replied to Kavina9's post with: "Get in pet!"
