- Chelsea have pocketed £13.3million for a player who did not play a single match in his six years at the club
Mario Pasalic is now officially an Atalanta player after the high flying Serie A club decided to make his loan deal permanent.
The 25-year-old has spent two seasons on loan with the Serie A club scoring 15 goals in 74 appearances.
And the club who have already made it through to the quarter finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history have now confirmed the Croatian midfielder has done enough to earn himself a deal.
Atalanta made the confirmation on their social media page that the deal for Palasic has been completed.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that a massive £13.5m will go to the Blues despite not making an appearance for them, while Croatian side Hadjuk Split will get £3m.
Pasalic went on loan with Elche, Monaco, AC Milan and Spartak Moscow for a season each before he finally had a breakthrough spell with Atalanta.
He helped Atalanta secure a third-place finish and secured Champions League football in his first campaign.
Pasalic signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge last season until 2022 in a bid to earn a bumper deal from a potential buyer.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that N'Golo Kante could be released in the summer by Chelsea to help fund the transfer of Benchilwell and Kai Havertz.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have already completed the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and the Blues are also keen on signing Leicester City and Bayer Leverkusen stars.
And according to Times, Chelsea know the pursuit for Chilwell and Havertz will not come cheap and will consider selling Kante.
Legit.ng had earlier reported that John Terry has revealed how he learnt one of the biggest life lessons from former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise.
Terry recalls that Wise once grabbed him by the throat after he used his Champions League bonus to buy a car as a youngster player.
It was a bitter pill the former England captain had to swallow but Terry remains grateful for the gesture many years after.
