The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party had in a meeting on the night of Wednesday, June 17, declared Giadom's seat vacant, claiming that he had ceased to be an officer of the party since 2018.
The APC said that Giadom resigned in 2018 to contest as the deputy governorship candidate of the party in Rivers state.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that amid the crisis rocking the APC, the ruling party commenced the replacement process for the post of deputy national secretary.
It was reported that the post was declared vacant on Wednesday, June 17, by the party's National Working Committee (NWC).
The office was occupied by Victor Giadom who resigned from the office in 2018 to contest the River state deputy governorship during the last general elections.
The national vice chairman, south-south, Hillard Etagbo Eta, disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, June 18.
Eta who has been standing in for Senator Ajimobi, the acting national chairman, said the NWC has directed the south-south geo-political zone to commence the process of the filling of the vacant post of the deputy national secretary as declared by the NWC.
But when told that Giadom claimed that the NWC granted him a wavier which enabled him to return back to the office after the election, the national vice-chairman maintained that Giadom has ceased to be a member of NWC, arguing that the former deputy national secretary was economical with the truth.
