There are reports that with Adams Oshiomhole temporarily out of the picture, there are ongoing moves to bring Governor Godwin Obaseki back to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Some sources in the Progressives Governor’s Forum told Daily Trust on Thursday, June 18, that there were serious moves to get Governor Godwin Obaseki back into the APC's camp.

One of the sources revealed that since Oshiomhole is now on suspension, the activities of some powerful persons in the ruling party are being scrutinised and checkmated.

The source said: “We strongly feel that we have to work for our colleague, Governor Obaseki who did nothing wrong.

“Now that he is gone, even those who claim to be national leaders or whatever have been checkmated. Governors would have their way because they are with the people at the grassroots. “They would not allow the interest of few individuals to hold Nigeria to ransom.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Oshiomhole had commented on the verdict of the Court of Appeal which upheld his suspension.

Oshiomhole on Wednesday, June 17, said he has accepted the verdict. The suspended APC chair, however, said his lawyer will advise him on the next action to take.

“When they hand that judgment, it is not for you to pick whether you will obey or not. I accept their judgement in good fate.

“My lawyers will advise having studied the judgement, what the next line of action will be. So at this point, I will just thank their Lordships for their judgment and look forward to my lawyers on what should be the next line if there should be another next line of action,” he said.
