Promising French climber and Olympic hopeful Luce Douady has tragically died following a 150 metres fall off a cliff.
Douady is said to have been heading to a yet to be explored sector of a cliff in the French Alps on Sunday, June 14.
SunSport reports it is believed the teenage sensation was crossing between two climbing areas near the city of Grenoble during the tragic incident.

Douady, a reigning world junior champion was hoping to make an appearance at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
While confirming her death, the French Mountain Climbing Federation mourned her as 'brilliant' and 'promising.'
"Luce was a young athlete on the French climbing team, very promising. Brilliant in competition," the federation said.
Julia Chanourdie, a fellow French climber has also since paid a tribute to the teenager who started climbing at a tender age alongside her father.
"I will remember her with incredible energy and motivation, clearly nothing could stop her, she was an example to follow despite her young age. It’s unfair," Julia mourned.
Douady finished fifth on her senior debut at the Bouldering World Cup in Colorado.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the football fraternities have been thrown into mourning in Europe following the death of former Polish footballer Piotr Rocki who died at the age of 46 after suffering rupture.
According to the report on UK Sun, Piotr Rocki was reported to have been in coma in the hospital last Sunday before he lost the battle in the mid night of Monday, June 1.
Ruch Radzionkow, one of Rocki's former clubs expressed their sadness following the demise of their ex-player describing his death as a shocking one.
Piotr Rocki played for Ruch Radzionkow from 2010 to 2012 before he left the club.
During his illustrious career, Piotr Rocki played 291 games in the Polish Premier League scoring 44 goals in the process.
