Angel Gomes: Nigerians react as Manchester United star visits T.B Joshua for deliverance

- Angel Gomes has been a Manchester United player since age six

- The youngster has featured for the Red Devils in just five games since 2017

- He was seen in footage receiving healing prayers from T.B Joshua

Angel Gomes of Manchester United is seen in trending video receiving prayers of healing at T.B Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), and Nigerians have continued to react.

It was gathered that the footage may have been shot in 2017 as the sensational player identified himself as a 16-year-old adding that his parents are huge fans of the pastor.

Gomes was seen narrating how injuries to his knee, groin and ankle have prevented him from performing well as a player which hindered his breakthrough.

“My name is Angel Gomes, I’m from Manchester. I’m sixteen. I play for the Manchester United Football Club. And I’ve been struggling really with injuries,” he can be heard speaking before the congregation.

“I’ve been having injuries around my hip and groin which have been affecting me playing. I also suffered ankle injury not long ago which kept me out for a long time.

“These injuries would come at hard times for me, times when I was having a breakthrough or times when I had to go to a tournament or playing games, these injuries would happen quite frequently."

However, Nigerians have continued to react to the player’s visit to the popular cleric as some queried why he did not go with team-mate Jesse Lingard.

Many regard Lingard as a major flop at the club and are of the opinion that he needed the deliverance more.

Kwame Benaiah wrote: “Angel Gomes went to see TB Joshua. I have no problem with that. But the fact that he didn't take Jesse Lingard along with him is a crime. Cuzz the way Lingard shaa dier he dey hia special prayers."

"So Angel Gomes of Manchester United went to TB Joshua for healing, but why is Lingard and the whole team left out,” were the words of Ademola David.

And Adedayo added: “Angel Gomes went for deliverance at TB joshua's church? Abeg help me tell him to tell Lingard that my baba said he should come. He has special package for him”

Meanwhile, earlier reported that Man United youngster Angel Gomes has reportedly ordered his agent to begin discussions with Chelsea over a potential switch to Stamford Bridge.

Gomes is understood to have increasingly grown unsettled at United after discussions over a new deal with the club broke down. Metro UK reports the teenage sensation will be out of contract with the Red

Devils at the end of June after when he will be free to leave for nothing. It is believed he has already rejected United’s offer of a new deal worth around £25,000-a-week that could see him extend his stay at Old Trafford.
