Marcelo performs black power pose in solidarity with Black Lives Matter movement

Marcelo scored Real Madrid’s third goal in their game against Eibar and performed the black power pose to celebrate and show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Real Madrid vs Eibar ended 3-1 as Los Blancos returned to La Liga with a not too convincing win over their opponents.

Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo scored Madrid's all three goals in the first half before Pedo Bigas pulled one back for the visitors in the second half.

Eden Hazard was the star of the show in the first 45 minutes as the Belgian was a handful for the Eibar defence with his mesmerizing moves.

But Marcelo’s goal celebration was one of the high points of the encounter after he latched onto a rebound when Eden Hazard was denied in front of goal, and then the Brazilian took to his knew for the black power pose.

There are protests around the world over the death of George Floyd who lost his life in the hands of police officers in the United States.

Italian striker Mario Balotelli also released a photo of himself performing the Black Power pose supporting the Black Lives Matter protests in the United States. Hundreds of thousands have thronged the U.S. streets to condemn the death of George Floyd who died in the hands of policemen in Minneapolis.

Alongside the Black Power pose, Balotelli wrote on his Instagram page: "#saynotoracism #blackpower #restinpeacebrother #GeorgeFloyd"

The 29-year-old also uploaded a post onto his Instagram story which read: 'I have nothing against monkeys because I'm totally sure a monkey is smarter than a racist.'

Legit.ng earlier reported that as Black Lives Matter movement continues to protest around the world, WWE legend John Cena has reportedly donated $1million to press on the cause.

Mirror reports that Cena called on his followers to "welcome ideas" and be "open minded" to change as he joined South Korean pop group BTS in pledging a seven-figure sum to back the movement.

The wrestler who recently became a Hollywood movie celebrity promised the said amount hoping it will help effect the much needed change, while urging his followers to be brave.
