- Adeboye says he will adhere to NCDC guidelines over church reopening
- As a result of this, he said he will not attending churches for some time
- Going further, he said pastors who don't feel like reopening can also stay at home
Following the reopening permission given to religious centres in Nigeria and also the guidelines issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Enoch Adejare Adeboye has disclosed that he and his wife will not attend church services for now.
78-year-old Adeboye who disclosed this on Sunday, June 14, cited the guidelines from NCDC which expressly called on people above 65 years and children below 15, to keep off large gatherings, such as religious services.
Adeboye said he would, however, continue to conduct online services for some weeks, PM News reports.
Meanwhile, he said Redeemed pastors can resume services with their congregation or continue with the virtual worship.
Legit.ng had also reported that Adeboye revealed how far he is willing to go for his dearly beloved wife, Foluke.
The man of God made this known during one of his weekly early morning devotions series.
In the video of the devotion service sighted by Legit.ng on the official Instagram page of the cleric, Adeboye appeared to have been sharing the word of God as it concerns keeping a good marriage.
The man of God noted that husbands and wives only have a single job on their hands to have a successful union. He said the wife should learn how to submit to her man while the husband’s assignment is to simply love his wife.
Using his marriage as a point of reference to drive home his message, Adeboye noted that while people can do whatever they like to him in form of criticism and insults, the same must not be extended to his wife.
According to him, anyone who messes with his woman would get killed.
"You can do whatever you like to me, you can criticize me, you can insult me, you can trample on me, I will only pray for you. But if you mess around with my wife, I will kill you," the man of God said.
