The forward was given the green light by his manager as a replacement for suspended Robert Lewandowski and quickly registered his name on the scores sheet.
Zirkzee's lead was canceled out in the 37th minute after Benjamin Pavard scored an own goal to level parity for the visitors.
However, Leon Goretzka restored his side's lead in the 86th minute - a goal that secured maximum points for the hosts. A win in their next match could see them win the title.
Zirkzee only lasted 77 minutes on the pitch as he made way for Kwasi Okyere Wriedt for the remainder of the meeting.
He appeared to have been left frustrated in the second half and the manager saved his blushes by removing him towards the end.
The 19-year-old is eligible to play for the Dutch national team as well as the Super Eagles, but it is left to be seen where he will commit his international future.
