- Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez could be in Barcelona's line-up against Mallorca
- The Uruguayan has been out of action for months after undergoing surgery
- The suspension of football gave the former Liverpool star plenty of time to recover
- Quique Setien currently has a number of attacking options when Barcelona face Mallorca on Saturday, June 13
Spanish League table-toppers Barcelona have been handed a major injury boost as both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are in contention to start the match against Mallorca on Saturday, June 13.
Suspension of football in March came as a blessing in disguise to 33-year old Suarez, who was set to miss the rest of the season with surgery.
However, the three-months without football was ample time for the Uruguayan to fully recover and provide manager Quique Setien with more attacking options.
Messi on his part had a slight thigh problem but the manager revealed in a recent interview that he is eligible to play a football match.
"He's doing perfectly and will not have any problem," Setien said.
Setien, who took over from Valverde, was also wary of the fact that Suarez may not necessarily be in his top form after being out for so long.
"He is better than we expected. But the question is how ready he is after so long out and whether he is ready to start."
Defender Samuel Umtiti is also nearing full fitness while Clement Lenglet is suspended as TUKO.co.ke reported earlier.
With several games in La Liga already played including Sevilla vs Real Betis, it is all systems go as fans gear to see how the title race will shape up.
Barcelona currently hold a two-point advantage over their rivals Real Madrid, whose dip in form since they beat the Catalans in the el Classico worked in favor of Messi’s team.
Los Blancos face Eibar on Sunday, June 14, and there is a chance they will be five points behind Barca.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United are doing everything possible to quickly complete the signing of 17-year-old Ansu Fati from Barcelona before the La Liga club increases his buyout clause.
Barcelona are reportedly prepared to raise the Guniea-Bissau born star’s buyout clause to a staggering £360million.
The Red Devils have reportedly prepared an £89million bid for the youngster which was rejected by the Catalan club.
