Coronavirus: Breakdown of cases per states as Nigeria records 663 new infection

The collective effort against the coronavirus pandemic was on Tuesday, June 9, punctured as Nigeria recorded 663 new cases - the highest in a single day, bringing the total infection to whopping 13,464.

According to NCDC, Nigeria's national disease control agency, Lagos accounted for 170 of the new cases followed by Ogun state with 108.

Bauchi followed on the log with 69, Ebonyi-49, Edo-33, Rivers-30, FCT-26, Jigawa-26, Delta-20. Anambra has 17 new cases, while Gombe and Kano states have 16 new cases sequentially.

Imo has 15, Abia has 14, Borno-11, Oyo-11, Plateau-8, Kebbi-6, Kaduna-6, Ondo-4. Niger and Katsina recorded two cases each while Osun, Ekiti, Kwara and Nasarawa have two cases each.

Lagos still continues to lead the Covid-19 cases with a hair-raising figure of 6,065. This economic capital city is responsible for about 50% of the total infection.

4,206 people have been successfully discharged while 365 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the virus in the country.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Plateau state has been hit by what appeared to be a mysterious death after about 50 people were said to have died and buried in various cemeteries within three weeks.

The incident, which came amid Covid-19 crisis, has now plunged the authorises of Jos North local government area of the state into palpable fear.

According to ThisDay report, deaths brought for burial in some of the cemeteries including the one at the Zaria road have suddenly surged as grave diggers expressed concern.
