- James Rodriguez is being offered to Man United to boost their summer transfer kitty
- Rodriguez has struggled for game time under Zinedine Zidane since his return from Bayern
- United, who have been keen on a move for the Colombian will have to face off with Everton in the race to sign him
Man United have been offered the chance to snap up James Rodriguez from Real Madrid for a cut-off price.
United have been long-term admirers of Rodriguez who signed for Madrid after his exploits at the 2014 World Cup.
Despite his switch to the Bernabeu, Rodriguez has seen his career in the La Liga stagnate, forcing Madrid to ship him out on loan.
The Colombia international only returned to the Spanish club last summer having spent two season with Bayern Munich on loan.
However, his return has marked with frustrations characterised by failure to retain the faith of Zinedine Zidane.
Deemed as surplus requirements, the 28-year-old has failed to make a single La Liga start since October 2019.
And with Real keen on a move for Donny van de Beek, Metro UK reports president Florentino Perez hopes to raise money for the transfer of the Ajax star by offloading Rodriguez.
The report added Perez is also looking to reduce Real’s staggering wage bill with Rodriguez currently on a massive £250,000-a-week wages.
The Colombian star was once valued at around £100 million, but the Spanish giants fear they may struggle to get even half of that.
As such, a move to United is viewed as the most likely, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to add reinforcements within his ranks.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Gareth Bale is a better athlete than Cristiano Ronaldo, former Real Madrid doctor claims.
Ronaldo is considered by many to be one of the best athletes in the game but ex-Los Blancos doctor Jesus Olmo describes Bale as “possibly the best I've ever seen”.
Legit.ng had also reported that Wesley Sneijder has claimed that he could have been like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, but he did not regret the career he had as a player.
The Netherland legend called it quits at the age of 34 and has had a rewarding career at club level.
The 134-capped midfielder was in the Orange squad that made it through to the 2010 World Cup and won the treble with Inter Milan that same year.
