Premier League leaders Liverpool have announced that attacking midfielder Adam Lallana has agreed a new short term contract extension with the Reds.

The England international is being expected initially to leave Anfield at the end of this month before he agreed a new deal with Jurgen Klopp's side.

His new deal will make the 32-year-old stay at Liverpool until the end of the season with the possibility of him winning the League title.

Liverpool are waiting for the resumption of the League season where they will have the chance t lift the title for the first time since 30 years.

"I am really pleased to have the chance to finish this season - it means a lot to me and my family," said Lallana.

"I feel in my time at Liverpool I've always looked to do the right thing for the team, the manager and the club in every decision I've made.

Liverpool will be facing Crystal Palace in their next Premier League game which will be played at Anfield.
