- One Zaman Abasiriyu has been arrested for alleged impersonation and forgery

The senator representing Adamawa north senatorial district the ninth Assembly, Ishaku Abbo has revealed that the Nigeria Police Force is investigating his personal assistant, Zaman Abasiriyu for alleged impersonation and forgery.
Senator Abbo disclosed this via his official Facebook page during a live session which lasted for 40 minutes on Saturday, June 6.
The detained personal assistant of the senator is being accused of using the letterhead of his principal to forge letters to federal government agencies in Abuja, demanding award of contracts and employment for unsuspecting persons he allegedly extorts monies from.

“The police was petitioned from Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Panti in Lagos was petitioned against me, a case of obtaining money by fraud against Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo.
“When I went through, I discovered that people put up my picture on Facebook, soliciting for money and names were called.
“Along the line, I started investigating. My PA was involved. I got enraged,” Senator Abbo said.
He continued: “A few days ago, we received credible information that my PA registered a company which he uses the letterhead of his office bearing his name and forged signature writing to ministries, departments and agencies of the government to solicit for contracts from these agencies, that I am nominating the companies for job.
“I was accused of obtaining money by false pretence. I was accused of taking money from my constituents to give them a job and now my letterhead paper is flying about that I am soliciting for contracts to a particular company.”
He noted that as a senator, his aides had no right to take a letter from his office asking an agency for contracts.
“It means you are trying to use your office to influence the procurement process, it is actually a punishable offence. I can’t be here and go to prison for anybody,” he stated.
Known for his generosity, Senator Abbo's good gesture once went viral on social media after he rendered help to a little girl in Loko, Adamawa state.
The senator was on his way to Yola when he came across a 4-year-old girl hawking tomatoes and bought the small quantity of vegetable for all N50,000 as a way to support the little girl's family.
