34-year old fake NAF officer arrested in Ondo

- A fake naval officer has been arrested in Ondo state

- The criminal was arrested while trying to defraud the family of Flight Lieutenant Ohai Idonije

- According to reports, he requested for sensitive documents from the family of a deceased officer

Olusegun Abe, a 34-year old criminal has been arrested for impersonated Flight Lieutenant SA Abe.

He was planning to defraud family of late NAF pilot, Flight Lieutenant Ohai Idonije.

Flight Lieutenant Idonije was killed by Boko Haram insurgents.

His family were still processing his benefits when the criminal turned up requesting for sensitive documents from the family, The Nation reports.

He said this will enable him help them process the deceased benefits.

Dressed in Nigerian military woodland camouflage uniform with the rank of Wing Commander, Abe was said to have approached a sister to the deceased, Tola Gbadamosi and introduced himself as her late brother’s senior colleague at NAF.

According to reports, he promised to assist the family in claiming the benefits of the deceased.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Lt. Commander Ajare Uchegbulah Amadi a naval officer, and two other persons have been kidnapped along the Owo/Ikare road in Ondo state.

Legit.ng had also reported that as insecurity continues to grow in the country, an Army captain attached to the Nigerian Army 32 artillery brigade was kidnapped by criminals.

However, the kidnappers have reportedly demanded N20 million as ransom.

Legit.ng had reported that the Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency (CESJET) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian military troops for their efforts towards ending the war against insurgency in the last five years.

CESJET made this known in its five-year assessment report on President Buhari’s administration in the war against terrorism and the accompanying efforts of the Nigerian army.
