Luka Modric has recalled the heated argument Cristiano Ronaldo and former coach Jose Mourinho had in the dressing room which almost resulted to fight.
That was seven years ago when Real Madrid were leading 2-0 in the Copa del Rey in which Jose Mourinho was not impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo's performance in the first half.
Mourinho who was in charge of Real Madrid then was so furious at the touch line and was shouting for Cristiano Ronaldo to improve his game.
According to the revelation Luka Modric made available to Corriere dello Sport, Cristiano Ronaldo was also livid with how Jose Mourinho was shouting at him on the pitch.
And after the first 45 minutes with Real Madrid leading 2-0, Jose Mourinho continued his anger against Cristiano Ronaldo in the dressing room.
The Portuguese who joined Real Madrid from Manchester United was frustrated with what Jose Mourinho was saying and had to hit back.
Luka Modric claimed that Ronaldo told Jose Mourinho that he did his best on the pitch in the first half, but his explanation was not accepted by his fellow countryman.
"Mourinho came in and began to criticize the Portuguese for his responsibility during the game.
"They became so hot that only the intervention of the team-mates avoided a real fight between them,'' Luka Modric explained.
Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor has once explained also how Jose Mourinho attacked Cristiano Ronaldo in the dressing room at Real Madrid.
