Manchester United defender Luke show has disclosed that players in the team are delighted that Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo finally secured his loan extension at the Old Trafford.
Ighalo who arrived at Old Trafford in January on a six-month loan was poised to leave the club at the end of May, but he pleaded with his parent club Shanghai Shenhua to allow him stay until January 2021.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly impressed with the player who has scored four goals for the club, before football was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Contract extension was sealed on June 1 for the player who has United as his boyhood club and Shaw has stated that team-mates are also glad he is staying.
"All the players are really happy for him," Shaw said, as cited at Tribal Football.
"Before he arrived, a few people outside the club weren't too sure what he was going to bring to the club, but he's shown everyone because he's brought goals and a different style to our other strikers.
"He's earned and deserved the chance to stay here longer. He brings happiness and a smile to the place."
Also, Manchester United have been handed a massive boost as reports have it that their transfer target Raul Jimenez of Wolves is now available for a meagre sum of £18million.
Wolves will now face a stern test in a bid to keeping the Mexican striker as it was gathered that many clubs are jostling for the signature of the 29-year-old.
Reports have it that Juventus and Real Madrid are also gunning for the lad who Manchester United have reportedly made their major transfer target when the transfer window opens.
Italian outlet TuttoJuve are reporting that Jimenez’ current club Wolves are demanding as little as £18million for the striker. That is despite the club paying a record £32m to make his loan from Benfica permanent last summer.
With his 22 goals for his club this season, the Mexican sensation Jimenez has now scored 39 goals for Wolves in his 88 appearances.
