- Gernot Rohr has laid his claim about inviting Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka to play for Nigeria

- The QPR and the Arsenal stars have been in fine form for the respective clubs this season

- Rohr recently extended his contract with the Super Eagles for the next three years

Gernot Rohr has finally spoken out about inviting Queens Park Rangers star Eberechi Eze and Arsenal sensation Bukayo Saka to play for the national team.

The English-born Nigerians have been shining brightly in the Championships and the Premier League and the pair have featured for England at under-age levels.

But both Eze and Saka can still switch allegiance to play for the Super Eagles just as the likes of Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and Joe Aribo did.

However, the national team handler Rohr has authoritatively stated that no player will be begged to wear the Green and White colours of Nigeria.

The German tactician who recently signed a new deal stated that has good players in every department of his squad but will not shut the door against players who can improve the team.

Rohr insisted that such players must first show their interest to play for their homeland before he can extend an invitation to them.

“We have good players in several positions but we are still open to having more. For players who have already represented another country it’s not easy to have them cleared to play for Nigeria.

”However, we don’t beg any player. If they want to play they should call me to indicate their interest like Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and Joe Aribo. It’s not the wise thing to beg them to play for Nigeria, we want players who are committed to making Nigerians happy.” Brila quoting Rohr.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that the Super Eagles might not be involved in matches when the international window as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) claim it would cost N300million to execute one game.

According to renowned sports journalist Colin Udoh, the federal government have reduced their budget by 30 per cent to organize a warm-up game for the national team.

This means Gernot Rohr will not have the luxury of assembling players for a friendly match with other teams around the world.
