The past few days on social media has seen victims of sexual assault call out their abusers and even celebrities have not been left out.

Some big named Nigerian stars have been called out by their victims for allegedly sexually assaulting them and the revelation led to mixed reactions on social media.

While some people stood by the victims and showed them support, others shamed them for calling out their faves and said that they should have kept quiet rather than reporting issues that happened many years ago.

Just recently, Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, took to social media via her Instagram page to address those telling victims of assault when not to speak.

According to her, the experience is traumatic and the victims cannot be told when they should share their stories.

She wrote: “Stop telling people when to tell their experience. We call it trauma‼ Don’t tell anyone the time frame to complain about rape. If we are going to report rape or harassment, half of the men are guilty. Don’t shame people and you guilty but hide and intimidate and even block their income. Don’t let me call some of your faves and billionaires. Everyone is just inconsiderate. From the common man to the high and mighty, shut up. Rape is rape, don’t make me call you out. Anyone who does not support this message is a rapist too.”
