Couple raise N426m to rebuild their bar after George Floyd protesters burned it

- A passionate black couple had their brand new business, the Scores Sports Bar, completely vandalized by Black Lives Matter protesters

- Korboi and his wife Twyana Balla were completely broken by the development and took to GoFundMe to raise $100,000 (N38,800,000) to renovate the place

- To their surprise, many people came on board to donate and in a few days, they got $1.1m (426,800,000)

Korboi and Twyana Balla, an African-American entrepreneurial couple from Minneapolis, have been able to raise $1.1 million to rebuild their enterprise after protesters of the Black Lives Matter movement burned it down.

According to, Korboi and Twyana narrated that they had been saving for many years to put up the brand new business and were yet to actually open it to the public.

When the husband and wife woke up to the news, they were heartbroken. Korboi recounts the words, "I don't know what we're going to do. It hurts, man. It's not fair, it's not right. We've been working so hard for this place. It's not just for me, it's for my family."

Twyana, the wife, shared the incident in a Facebook post and said that after destroying the place, looters took advantage of the chaos and tried to break into the safe adding how the damage affected their livelihood.

Shortly after, the couple launched a GoFundMe page to raise $100,000 (N38,800,000) in funds to support the business and rebuild the bar.

To their surprise, within just a few days, more than 37,000 people contributed more than $1 million to help them renovate the place.

The bar Twyana and her husband have raised money to rebuild is not the only renovation project that has been in the news.

Meanwhile, earlier reported that George Floyd's baby mama, Roxie Washington, spoke out on Tuesday, June 2, for the first time - mourning the loss of her 6-year-old daughter's dad.

In a short video in Minneapolis, US, Roxie said she wanted justice for Floyd because he was a good man and Gianna was the proof, pointing to her daughter.

The emotional lady said she wanted everyone to know that Gianna was denied the chance of ever seeing her father again and the late Floyd would never see her grow up and graduate school.
