- Pep Guardiola considering to take up a national team assignment
- The Spaniard runs out of contract with Manchester City at the end of next season
- Pep's brother who is also an agent Pere claims there's a chance the former Barcelona handler takes a national team job
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola dreams of handing a national team sometime in the future claims his brother Pere.
The Spaniard got his coaching career started at FC Barcelona in 2008, and he has since then moved from glory to glory.
He was a serial winner at Bayern Munich except for the Champions League, and he has won the Premier League back to back for the Citizens.
Although, the 49-year-old was quoted to have said his chances of managing the Spanish national team were slim owing to Catalan roots but his brother thinks that could happen pretty soon.
Guardiola's current deal with Man City expires in the summer of 2021 but there's no plan to further extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium.
However, SunSport claims the former midfielder has been linked with two South American countries; Argentina and Brazil.
Pere, football agent - who has just opened a branch of his Media Base Sports company in Brazil - would not rule it out.
He told Globo Esporte: "Brazil has won everything with Brazilian coaches. "I think you have good coaches, you don't have to have only foreigners.
"Pep has a dream of coaching a national team someday, but we'll see how it goes and whether he will receive an offer. "It is not something for the present."
Guardiola could return to Barcelona after the expiration of his deal next year but the Premier League outfit believes he will stay back and ignore his former club's interests.
Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas recently said the 49-year-old is the most tactical coach he has ever played for including Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger.
And City legend Vincent Kompany reportedly snubbed the chance to return to the Etihad to become Guardiola's No2.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Man City boss Pep Guardiola has shown interest in signing AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer this summer.
The Spanish tactician is in search of a replacement for outgoing countryman David Silva and the Spaniard was said to have reached out to the Algerian star.
According to Daily Mail, the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager was said to have called the 22-year-old over a possible summer switch to Etihad Stadium.
