The Nigerian social media space has been rent with calls for justice for women as more men are being vilified and presented as demons because of the evil perpetrated by their fellow gender.

This same brush used to paint all men seems to already be affecting the good ones among them and they have taken to social media to preach against generalising because bad men and women exist.

Nigerian rapper MI Abaga speaks up for women, says patriarchy should be dismantled

An on-air-personality, Beevan SickForces Magoni, took to his Facebook page to complain about how things can be very tough for men especially because they are generally seen as being bad people.

According to him, nobody is safe from men and women because they are both dangerous species and none is better.

Excerpts from his post reads: “I am pained because in the cause of journalism I know what I've seen and the manipulations there in. When you people start your blame game just pray I don't see it. I fight for men and women alike. I fight for humanity. I have a reputation for fighting. Come for me or utter the wrong word and I'll fight you.

And like I'd always say, the fight is not even fair. I don't want my son to experience what I've experience as a result of him being a man. From primary school they flogged us double and pet the girls. They made women look angelic while the male students were demons. You don't even know that's the genesis of rebellion in most male children? They see the imbalances in disciplinary approach and became rebels.”

Explaining further, Magoni said that the call out of men should start from family and that if someone has a bad father or brother, they should call them out rather than generalise. He also said that he was raised to be a beacon of hope, a lover and a provider.

He asked ladies if they have been fair to men and if their behaviour has not pushed some men to the point of no return. He also asked if all women have been called out because of the wrongdoings of one of them.

Further in the post, Magoni wrote: “This fight should be a collective fight of hope. Make victims understand that they are not alone and that all men are not the same. Give them hope of justice and not create nightmares for them because you want to cash out on their predicament. Don't be a di*ckhe*ad by jumping on trends of vendetta. NGOs and CSOs are cashing out on these irresponsible tags and gender profiles. Faze out of my face please.
