- Odion Ighalo has vowed to help Man United back to glory days after earning a six-month extension
- United paid £10million to secure Ighalo's extension at Old Trafford until January 2021
- The Red Devils are in strong contention for next season Champions League and the Europa League title
Odion Ighalo has reiterated his desire to take Man United higher and higher after securing a six-month loan extension at Old Trafford.
The former Nigerian international's loan move from Chinese Super Leauge side Shanghai Shenhua was due but he will now be staying until January 2021.
It cost the Red Devils £10million to retain the services of the 30-year-old striker who has been in fine form since arriving Manchester.
The former Watford striker has scored four goals in eight matches before the three-month break due to the pandemic.
And Ighalo has vowed to help bring glory days back to Old Trafford as they challenge for a Champions League spot, the FA Cup and the Europa League.
He said: “I’m really happy. It’s a dream for me to be here. I’m buzzing and ready to go.
“Since the first day I arrived, I made it clear that I wanted whatever it takes to continue that work.
“Like I’ve said, since I was young, I’ve been supporting this club and playing for it is a dream.
“Now I’ve extended my loan, it makes it even more clear and I’m committed as I know, in my head, I’m here until January.
“I just want to work hard and enjoy it, support the team and do whatever I can to make us go higher and higher.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Olivier Giroud is concerned about himself and his teammates after they all returned to training amid the global pandemic.
The Frenchman claimed that their training routine in Chelsea's camp is having an adverse effect of them adding that almost all of his teammates have developed blisters.
The Premier League is set to return on June 17, as the Blues look to cement their place in the top-four for next season's Champions League ahead of Man United, Tottenham and Arsenal.
