No fewer than five Barcelona staff members reportedly tested positive for coronavirus days before the resumption of the Spanish League.

Reports claim those who tested positive for the virus were asymptomatic when the testing exercise was carried out.

However, it is believed there are concerns within the club's ranks about the effects of the virus on those who contracted COVID-19 and their possible susceptibility to injury.

Recently, Barca skipper Lionel Messi opened up on his struggles during the pandemic, saying football "will never be the same" after the COVID-19.

"Most of us are left with doubts about what the world is going to be like after everything that has happened," he told Goal. "Football, like life in general, I think will never be the same," he added.

The virus broke out in December 2019 and it has gone to kill over close to 400,000 people with over 6 million cases recorded globally.

Football games were also suspended in many parts of the world due to the continuous threat the virus is causing in which mass gathering has also been banned.

Lionel Messi and his teammates at Barcelona were all ordered to quarantine themselves for more than two months before football is now getting clearer picture of returning in Spain.
