- A popular pastor, Adewale Giwa, has predicted the winner in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo state
- Giwa said that Governor Akeredolu would be defeated at the APC primary by Olusola Oke
- The cleric, however, advised Akeredolu to start packing his belongings from the Government House
Ahead of the governorship election slated to hold in Ondo state later in the year, a senior pastor of Awaiting the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has predicted that the former national legal adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olusola Oke, would emerge the next governor of the state.
The Nation reports that Giwa, who stated this in his church on Sunday, May 31, advised Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to start packing his bags from Alagbaka Government House.
Legit.ng gathered that the cleric said, though Akeredolu had tried his best, the governor’s best was not enough for Ondo.
He said: "Don’t forget I said APC would not pick Chief Oke in 2016 primary election and it happened just the way I predicted. This time around, it is the turn of Oke to become the governor of Ondo state.
“The truth must be told that the current government has tried his best but he has failed to execute positive projects that can make the people return him to Alagbaka. You don’t give what you don’t have; Governor Akeredolu is a novice in politics.
“No doubt, I commend the governor that he says things as they are, but he is being surrounded by sycophants. Left to Governor Akeredolu, one term is enough but the people around him keep pushing the governor to do what he has not planned to do.
“Ondo state people won’t forget governor Akeredolu, his wife and children. They have served the state in different capacities. Maybe the people would start enjoying the dividends of democracy when they learn how to present to politicians what they want.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Governor Akeredolu appointed a 26-year-old female of Igbo extraction, Ngozi Ugochi-Igbo, as his new special assistant on gender, research, and documentation.
It was reported that although the appointment by Akeredolu sparked reactions on social media among critics who claim that she just finished the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, Ngozi has already resumed her duty.
Advocating self-defence for young females in the state, the new appointee called on parents to allow their girl children to learn Taekwondo.
